About "The Alpinist"

“The Alpinist” is a mountaineering Institute in Pune which organizes week end treks in Sahyadri and High Altitude treks and expeditions in Himalaya since last five years with the objective to developing adventure spirit in youth and respect towards nature and love for environment.

“The Alpinist” is member of Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF), New Delhi and Youth Hostel of India. Members of the institute are professional mountaineers trained by various mountaineering Institute if India and are doing trekking since last 18 years. Institute is specialized in organizing various technical treks, climbs and rappling events in Sahyadri and in Himalayas.

Institute is registered under Bombay Public Trusts Act,1950 as a Charitable Trust with Registration number is E-8355/Pune.

Vision of "The Alpinist”

▪ Climb technical peaks in the world.

▪ Promote adventure sports under Fit India Movement.

▪ Provide a platform for training people in mountaineering.

▪ Create awareness of environment and respect for nature.

▪ Promote adventure tourism in rural and tribal areas of Maharashtra

1. Mt. Everest (29,029ft) - climbed twice in 2017 and 2018. 2. Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586mt) Third highest mountain of the world and highest mountain of India. Climbed successfully in 2022. 3. Mt. Manaslu (8163mt)- Successfully climbed in 2021. 8th highest mountain of the world 4. Mt. Annapurna 1- (8091mt) successfully climbed in 2021. 10th highest mountain of the world 5. Mt. Lhotse (8516mt) 4th highest peak in the world. Successfully climbed in 2024 6. ⁠Dhaulagiri- 7th highest mountain of the world. Reached upto 7300mt. Due to bad weather abandon two times. 7. Mt. Ama Dablam (22350ft) in 2018 Fifth Indian to climbed.

In Sahyadri, Akshay has climbed many Rock Pinnacles, like: Khadaparsi (Wanarlingi) pinnacle ,Vajir pinnacle,Dukes Nose(Nagfani) pinnacle , Lingana ,Tailbaila all Pinnacles,Kalakrai Pinnacle Done more than 600 treks in Sahyadri. Akshay is also known as SARPAMITRA.
